The BIG stuff
I have always loved building stuff...
For my daughters third birthday, I used an old box we had lying around to make a dinosaur themed face-in-hole. I am such a sucker for these!! I have to tell ya- it really whet my whistle for all the other fun things I could be making out of cardboard and elbow grease...

Finding the right tools...
I do love a good craft tool, and I also love research, testing and sharing my top picks for craft tools! I tested out these three cardboard cutting tools, check out their applications and which one I find the best tool for the job.
a giant horseshoe
Is how I envisioned my baby girl's first birthday vibe. She was born March 1st and it always seemed like a special, lucky, green, spring, shiny day. I made this big horseshoe out of her old diaper boxes.

Dia De Los Muertos Ofrenda-
Mixed Media: Cardboard, acrylic paint, pom poms, ceramic findings, mod podge, pipe cleaners.

Experimenting with air dry clay
Using foil as the center and base proved to be the secret to making the candles
Using pipe cleaners as the "bones" was the key to making these skeletons

Large Acrylic Paint Works
I experimented with mixing cut paper, mod podge, acrylic paints and posca markers when making this series. These were images from a dream that I had that hung over me for days.

I saw you in a dream
I had a dream about this little robot man being the only one left after an apocolypse
Floating Up
The first in the dream series where the little survivor takes a robot suit and wears it out of an amphitheater.

Ruth's Room
Mobiles, Coordinated Wall Paintings, Sun-Catchers
Decorating my newborn baby's room became a passion of mine. Trying out new skills became an obsession.

Hanukkah Menorah
In our house we celebrate Christmas AND Hanukkah- this year I decided to make sure our Menorah was as prominent as our Christmas tree

It started with cardboard
I had a general idea, and plenty of saved up cardboard for this project.

One for each night...
I made small flames to go over top each candle- one for each night of Hanukkah. I drilled a hole in the top and used a suction cup to hang them on the window.

Reupholstered Reading Chair
My toddler LOVES reading books mostly looking at pictures, and I wanted to make her a little reading chair that she could carry around with her- and a matching F pillow- for her name FRANCES.

I stripped an old children's chair...
I measured, cut and sewed the fabric, and attached it to the kid's chair frame.

An F for Frances
The F came together quickly and was stuffed ENTIRELY with pom pom scraps! I got a push light from Amazon, drilled a hole in it and hot glued it to a small bike flag pole and attached that to the chair- voila!
